I purchased the UltiMate GPS for use on my first generation iPad about 8 months ago. We travel across the United States full time in a motorhome, so having a good GPS system is critical. The dedicated GPS devices from Magellan, Garmin, etc., are adequate but each system has its unique drawbacks. Using the UltiMate GPS device with my iPad is a perfect travel solution. Just download GPS software from the Apple store and try it out. If that software doesn't perform, download another until you find one that works for you. Connection speeds and satellite syncs are blazing fast. I wish I had known about the UltiMate before buying 3 or 4 dedicated GPS devices. Plus, you can't beat the large 7 in. iPad screen.
